The BMPM® UK Recycle Scheme for Custom Cushion Fibre Filling - a scheme that is voluntary and totally in your control.

We've been manufacturing custom cushions for promotional use for decades. All the fibre used to fill our cushions is 100% polyester and therefore typically deemed "plastic" and it irks me that we can't use recycled fibre in the cushions. It's such a waste and a great shame. We've used "recycled" fibres from our suppliers but it's awful, it's heavy and clumpy and causes client complaints.

We now have a solution.

How do BMPM® as a UK Manufacturer of Branded Cushions offer the use of recycled fibre filling?

It's simple. You send us your used and still clean promotional cushions back to us. We only accept the cushions that we supplied in the first place and we do this for free.

If you order with us, select the "recycled fibre" option when ordering online. Take delivery of your cushions and use them at your event or office or wherever they are intended. When the event is over, send them back to us.

We cut the cushions open, remove the fibre filling, check it's clean and bag it back up to use again with the next client opting in to use the recycled fibre filling. We then responsibly dispose of the cushion covers.

How much does it cost to recycle the cushions that we return?
It costs you nothing apart from the cost of delivery back to us. No charges are made. If the fibre is clean and can be re-used, we will. For now we have not had any fibre that cannot be re-used as clients are respectful of not sending back dirty cushions.

Can I order cushions with new fibre filling?
Yes, Just choose the fibre filling of choice at order stage though we defult to new fibre as you see online.

Can I use recycled fibre filling if I don't have any cushions to return?
Yes. Again make the right selection at checkout though of course we can only use recycled fibre filling if we have any in stock to use. We won't be buying in recycled fibres and will use new if nothing else is available.

When can we send back our cushions to you?
Right now. No need to book in though we would appreciate an email letting us know they are on the way.

Can we use our returned fibre in our next cushion order?
Generally no as it's hard to keep track of who's fibre is stored though we can, if you are in touch, ensure we re-use your fibre if we can co-ordinate it in advance.

Why is the use of the recycled fibre only shown as "when available"?
Simply put, the scheme is brand new and only launching June 2026 and, if we don't have any returned recycled fibre to hand, we simply can't use it and have to use new. The scheme isn't about buying recycled fibre filling, it's about recycling the fibre we use in production.

Why limit the scheme only to cushions that BMPM® have supplied in the first place?
We have been purchasing polyester fibre filling for decades and we know which fibre works and conversely the options that produce dissapointing results. Our brand new fibre is spiral twisted so it's lofty and springs back to life for a very long time. It's super clean on arrival in our huge 1-ton bags and simply put it really works well for promotional cushion manufacture. We do not want to receive fibre from unknown sources either.

How clean is the polyester fibre that we receive back and re-use in the cushions we make here in the UK?
It's a visual and very non-technical smell test. It's not a machine and it's not high tech. Cushions we receive back are checked over on the outside and we ensure they "look" clean first. We hand cut open the cushion and remove the fibre one cushion at a time. It's checked by eye; remember we know from decades experience how it ought to look, and we sniff test it ! We do not want your brand new UK Made cushions smelling at all or filled with less that great fibre filling.

Can this product be pantone matched?
No. This product is made from stock colours of fabric though we can mix and match many colours for your needs.

Please get in touch with us as we stock far more colours of fabrics than can be displayed on our web site and invariably we can get fabric that meets your needs, even for smaller order quantities.

Can we order Plain Stock with no product branding?
Yes, this product is available without print. Prices for plain stock are shown in the pricing table.

Can this product be made to a special size that is not shown on your web site option?
Yes. We make this product to order and can, if required consider a bespoke size if you don't see a size that's suitable. We might have to charge a bespoke pattern set up fee though do get in touch beforehand to see if this would be applied and if we can make your requested size.

What is the lead time for production?
We are fast turning around all jobs as this product is made in-house in our own Lancashire factory; many jobs can be manufactured and despatched within 1-2 days if really needed.

Actual lead time depends on the order quantity and how busy we are at the time you order.
